The Butt Drama Circle’s annual Christmas Panto in The Balor Theatre has become quite the tradition in the Twin Towns over the years.
It is seen by many families as the ‘official start of Christmas’ and 2023 is no different!
Audiences might be somewhat familiar with the storyline of ‘Foundered’ given the panto’s affinity to a certain film and musical with a vaguely similar title.
‘Foundered’ though has been given the full Donegal panto treatment, and this year’s show is jam packed full of gags, music, dancing and hilarious new characters with just a sprinkle of magic.
The story tells the tale of two Princesses, Hannah and Ella who are played by Grace Quinn and Jaylyn Griffin. Of course, one of them struggles to come to terms with the magical powers she has been given. The sisters are joined by Dame Florrie (Desmond Crawford) Frosty (Joshua Duffy) and a host of original characters they meet along the way.
But, can they survive the snow storm? Will the sisters ever find true love, or will their kingdom be taken over by a wicked Prince (Callum Playle) and his ‘henchweemin’ (Nicole Laverty and Louise McCormack)?
Come with the Butt Drama Circle, starting this Saturday, 25th November, on a magical and hilariously funny journey where we will see just how strong the bond between sisters can be! But hurry, as a number of shows are already sold out – oh yes they are!
Foundered is directed by Bernie Thompson, with musical direction from Nicole Laverty and choreography by Katriona McNamee.
It runs from November 25th-December 9th, nightly at 8pm.
Matinees: 4pm Saturday and Sunday. There will be no shows on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th November and Monday 4th December. Tickets on sale now from The Balor Box office on 074 9131840 or from www.balorartscentre.com
