The Letterkenny branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann has announced exciting plans and events for the coming year.
This will start with a traditional music float in the St. Patrick’s day parade as well as music around the town at various venues.
“To follow at Easter, we are restaging an event that we had in the town some time ago called Turas Ceoil Traidisiúnta,” a spokesperson for the group said.
“This event will see traditional music sessions on the streets of Letterkenny as well as a historical guided tour of the town with arts and crafts and a reenactment of the hiring fairs in the square.”
The branch holds their weekly Tuesday night session in Blake’s Bar, Letterkenny, at 8pm. All musicians and those that enjoy listening to Irish traditional music are most welcome to attend. They also host a youth session in The Silver Tassie Hotel on the second Sunday of every month. December’s special Christmas youth session will be held in An Grianan Hotel, Burt, on the 10th of December. All children of all musical abilities are welcome.
