A Donegal music producer is becoming one to watch and he builds on his collection of uplifting tracks.
Laghey native Michael Doherty, known by his artist name ‘Michael’, specialises in melodic house music that is both easy listening and appealing to the new generation.
His tracks have already gained significant recognition, having been played on the Jenny Greene show, Dave Treacy on 2fm, and Niall Dunne on iRadio. Michael is now hoping to expand his reach and get airplay in the UK soon.
Michael’s passion for music began at a young age. He started producing music when he was just 14 years old and soon got into DJing. At the age of 21, he secured his own show on iRadio. After five years on the airwaves, Michael decided to travel to Australia and Canada.
However, the lure of music proved to be too strong, and Michael returned to the mixing board last year. During the lockdown, he spent weeks perfecting his track “When We See,” which has now garnered over 40,000 views on YouTube.
Since then, Michael’s tracks have received airplay on all the major national radio stations, and he has found inspiration to keep going with the support of Lane 8 and the Anjunadeep record label.
Michael has two new songs in the pipeline, both with a more clubby vibe. He also plans to create a mix for YouTube, showcasing the scenic beauty of Donegal. Stay tuned…
