Dozens of secondary school pupils had to evacuate a school bus in Cranford today after it caught fire.
The bus, which was hired out to Bus Eireann from a local company, was badly damaged in the blaze.
The bus contained a number of pupils who had been collected from Mulroy College in Milford and were being left home.
In Cranford a driver behind the school bus noticed a small fire at the rear of the bus and signalled the driver to pull in.
The driver did so and the pupils were able to exit the bus without anybody being injured.
The blaze did spread to a number of areas of the bus and considerable damage was caused to the vehicle.
Donegal Daily has contacted Bus Eireann for a reaction to the incident.
