Letterkenny Athletic Club member Caitriona Jennings competed in the 2023 IAU 50km World Championships in the City of Pearls, Hyderabad, India last Sunday.
She finished in 3.29.25 in challenging heat racing amongst elite runners.
Well done to Eoin Hughes who competed in the 87th historic McConnell Shield Cross Country in Sixmilewater River Park, Ballyclare, Antrim.
The club’s Novice teams put in superb performances in Stranorlar in the Ulster ANI Cross Country.
The men’s team consisted of Michael Harkin, Conall Dunne, Adrian Callaghan, Cian Friel, and Garvan Mulligan whilst the women’s team consisted of Clodagh Sammon, Jesseka Gallagher, Stella McCole and Fin Begley.
Jesseka finished in 12th place while the women’s team finished in 7th place. Outstanding running.
Barry Mackey was competing in Dubai in the Nakheel 5km road race last weekend.
Barry ran a remarkable time of 19:41 finishing in 1st place in his category. Well done to Barry.
LAC meets Tuesday 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run.
All runs start at the Aura. All levels catered for and encouraged.
Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.
The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend.
Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
