The Donegal “Mo Bros” have teamed up once again to raise awareness about men’s health during Movember 2023.
Paddy Browne (The Viking Dippers), Kevin Dooher (The Wild Atlantic Traveller), Donal Kearney (Donegal Donal) and Micheál Brennan (Donegal Daddy), are taking on the annual global Movember challenge to raise awareness about men’s health and issues such as mental health, men’s suicide and prostate and testicular cancer.
As well as growing their moustaches for the month of November, the Mo Bros will be hosting a series of events throughout Donegal where people of all ages are welcome to join them. The events will be running across the month in locations from Letterkenny, Downings, Inishowen and Glenties.
Paddy Browne who is spearheading the Mo Bros will be doing a cold water dip every day and will host a Big Dip event on 19th November at 10.30am in Downings.
The second annual Walk & Talk up Errigal Mountain will take place on Saturday 25th November and this free hike event is an opportunity for people to gather together, meet new people and have a talk.

In Inishowen, there will be talks hosted in a local business where there will be guest speakers and another opportunity for people to speak with others. More information will be shared on social media, but all are welcome to come along.
The V&M Podcast has also invited the Mo Bros to their podcast to speak about men’s health and this will air in November to continue supporting the Mo Bros cause.
Dad of three, Michael Brennan, better known online as Donegal Daddy, is taking on a challenge of walking 5KM a day to help raise awareness and he is inviting people in Glenties to join him any evening.
Camille Thai restaurant in Letterkenny will also be hosting an evening in November with food, chats and talks. Keep an eye on social media for updates with 100% of all ticket sales going towards Movember.
Speaking about Movember and this year’s campaign, Paddy Browne said: “Movember is all about raising awareness about men’s health and encouraging men to open-up and talk. In my opinion men have always been a little bit shyer about talking about issues, particular health issues, so if the work we’re doing encourages men to be more open, then it’s an amazing cause! Last year we organized the Walk & Talk event, and it was amazing to see the turnout on the day. This year we are over the moon to have even more events and opportunities for people to come together at different events across the county. We are delighted to be playing our part and if you can support in any way by means of donation or coming along to one of the events, we would love to see you.”
Gillette also sponsored the Mo Bros with its Gillette Labs razor to ensure their challenge got off to a smooth start. Last year, the group raised an amazing €3,070 and this year, they hope to raise even more.
For 2023, the Mo Bros group has also been joined by Mo Sisters, Aoibheann Walsh G&G and Grace Shields, Social Scene PR, to help raise even more funds.
Aoibheann will be supporting the group at the events and will also be taking on the challenge of removing the Mo Bros tashes at the end of the month.
Excited to be part of the campaign Aoibheann said: “Delighted to be supporting the Mo Bros again this year. Paddy, Michael, Donal and Kevin continue to use their platforms to share positive messages of support and by them speaking out, it gives other people the courage to open up too. To support their fundraising efforts, I will be running polls to see which Mo Bro should get their underarm waxed, who has to get a spray tan and who must take on the deadly challenge of the tash wax! If you can donate to the cause, please do. It is a fantastic charity to get behind and from personal experiences, I know how important it is for people to have a safe place to open up and not be afraid to talk to one another.”
