A fund has been set up to help a dog rescued in east Donegal last week to walk again.
Lady ( renamed by her nurses/carers at a vet practice) was callously abandoned on a remote country road near Castlefin.
It is also believed that at least five other Cocker Spaniels were dropped off along with her. All the others are now fine and in care. Unfortunately for Lady, through no fault of the driver, she was hit by a car which resulted in a fractured pelvis.
The Twin Towns Lost and Found Dogs charity stepped in as they were her only hope of help. Now on cage rest, she has the ordeal of corrective surgery to face. The surgery will cost up to £1500/€1700.
“Our funds are extremely low due to the amount of dogs that have come through our doors this year – we are appealing to the public to help us to help Lady walk again,” a spokesperson for the charity said.
