A number of Donegal families hit by the defective blocks scandal locally have met with visiting MEPS.
A number of the Members of the European Parliament are in the county this week on a fact finding mission on the crumbling blocks scandal which has wreaked havoc on homeowners.
A delegation of families met with the MEPS outside the Radisson Blu hotel in Letterkenny.
The group spent time explaining to the MEPs that it is not mica that is the issue, it is pyrrhotite and pyrite that are the cause of houses crumbling in Donegal.
Families and campaigners met with the EU delegation to explain the situation to the visiting politicians.
The delegation includes MEPs Dolors Montserrat (Spain); Yana Toom (Estonia); Sira Rego (Spain); Tatjana Ždanoka (Latvia).
They are joined by Irish MEPs, including Mr Markey, Fine Gael’s Maria Walsh, Independent Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan and Sinn Féin’s Chris MacManus.
