Members of the local Ardara community are shocked as Ardara Butchers is set to close its doors for the final time after this weekend.
In a post on social media, owners Jake and Zoe Adair said that the decision was made with a heavy heart”, and that it was “not made lightly”.
Ultimately they said that the rising costs of running a business had made it unviable for them to continue: “…with the never ending, increasing costs of running a business it has made it hard for our business to survive.”
They opened up shop in 2021, but have suffered a fate similar to many Donegal businesses in recent months, as inflation has taken its toll on the local economy.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers who have supported us on our journey over the past few years. Thanks again, Jake, Zoe and boys”, they concluded their statement.
