A man has been handed a one-year driving ban after being caught drug-driving in Donegal.

Milosz Goralewicz, aged 44 and of Cottage, Gartan Mountain, Churchill, was before Letterkenny District Court on a charge relating to an incident on July 5, 2022.

Goralewicz was charged with drug driving at Ray, Ramelton. He was found with a quantity of cannabis in his system. A test showed that Goralewicz had 22.4ng of cannabis per millilitre of blood.

Goralewicz appeared via video link from Castlerea Prison. His solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher told the court that his client is currently serving a sentence for another matter and he was not making an application for a postponement of any disqualification the court might impose.

Sergeant Jim Collins said this was Goralewicz’s first offence of this sort and confirmed that he was cooperative on the day in question.

Judge Ciaran Liddy disqualified Goralewicz for one year and fined him €300.
