The ongoing traffic gridlock in Letterkenny is to be discussed at length at tomorrow’s area council meeting.
Donegal County Council is to be asked to contact the National Transport Authority (NTA) for help to tackle various issues in the town.
Two separate motions on the matter will be discussed at the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District (MD) tomorrow.
Councillor Gerry McMonagle is to table a motion urging the council to contact the NTA for more resources to help with the implementation of the Transport Plan for Letterkenny.
The plan includes park and ride facilities, a new public bus service and the proposed Transport Hub. Cllr McMonagle said the fruition of the Transport Plan will be crucial in resolving the town’s traffic problems.
Cllr Donal Coyle, meanwhile, will ask the local authority to explain the reason for the ‘traffic chaos’ on the Kilmacrennan Road on Friday, September 29.
