Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the tragic explosion which claimed the lives of ten people in Creeslough, and the local community gathered to commemorate the tragedy and the ten lives that were lost.
At 3.17pm, the time of the blast on October 7th last year at the Applegreen service station that took the lives of James O’Flaherty, Leona Harper, Martin McGill, Hugh Kelly, Jessica Gallagher, Martina Martin, Catherine O’Donnell and her son James Monaghan, Robert Garwe and his daughter Shauna Flanagan Garwe, a bell tolled ten times in their honour.
Along with members of the families impacted, as well as the wider Creeslough community, members of the emergency services that responded to the tragedy were in attendance, as well as local politicans and religious leaders.
Here are photos from a sombre day, as County Donegal yet again remembered and mourned the ten lives so tragically lost in Creeslough last year.
