Letterkenny singer/songwriter Maria McCormack is showcasing her many musical styles once more in a new album ‘Matters of the Heart’.
Maria’s second album was originally born before Covid and crowdfunded by fans based on a rewards basis.
But as we’ve all learned, life can throw curveballs. In the past three years, Maria has fallen in love, had two more children, Laura May and Tara and also cared for her mother, who she sadly lost in November last year.
‘Matters Of The Heart’ tells stories of love and loss. Like Maria’s debut album ‘I Choose to Love’ it has different styles from track to track. The album starts off with a gypsy jazz song ‘Girl with Good Intentions’ and ends with a beautiful slow piano and cello lament called ‘Unexpected Waves’. The title of the album comes from a lyric in the song ‘Queen of the Town’.
The album is out today, Friday, on Spotify (click here) and available to purchase on Bandcamp (here).
Matters of the Heart is produced, recorded and mastered by Billy Robinson in the Grooveshack recording studio in Ramelton, Co.Donegal, with a host of incredible musicians:
