The Letterkenny Hospital Golf Society held its final outing of 2023 in Portsalon Golf on Monday last.
The two players who have dominated the winner’s enclosure during the year again came out on top. Mickey Ferry won for the second time with Captain’s and President’s Prize winner Ciaran Williamson in the runner-up spot. Ciaran also picked up the Golfer of the Year award for his outstanding performances this year.
There was good scoring also from the Sections winners in the tricky cross-wind playing conditions: Pauric Mc Hugh, Mary Murray, Tony Doherty and Carmel McGeady taking the top spots in their respective sections.

The 2023 Annual General Meeting followed and the Officer Board was returned unchanged; Secretary Dessie Ferr , Treasurer Pauric Mc Hugh, Handicap Convenor Kevin Mills, PRO Charlie Collins and 2023 Captain Marian Keating.
Outgoing Captain Marian Keating and Outgoing President Charlie Collins both addressed the meeting. They thanked all the members for their support during the year which at times proved difficult due to weather and cancellations, but with the members’ co-operation, were still able to get a full programme of outings complete . Marian welcomed Maureen Sweeney as Captain for 2024 and Charlie did likewise with Cynthia Furey as the 2024 Society President. Maureen announced that her Vice-Captain for next year will be Joe Blake. Another successful year for this long standing society and members left the meeting already looking forward to 2024.
