Former Westlife star Brian McFadden had the people of Creeslough in his heart as he performed to a Donegal crowd at Oakfest last night.
Brian, whose father Brendan is from Creeslough, dedicated a performance of ‘Flying Without Wings’ to the victims of last October’s tragic explosion.
Brian was performing to a full crowd at Oakfield Park alongside Keith Duffy as ‘Boyzlife’ when he took up his guitar for a special solo performance.
Speaking to the crowd in Raphoe, Brian said: “All my family are from Creeslough. We were here in January to do a gig and I said that night that we won’t forget the people of Creeslough. They are always going to be in our hearts. For our family, it’s every day for them.”
Brian also dedicated the song to his dad, affectionately known as ‘Benji’, who he said was “one of the greatest men on the planet”.
“I love him to bits and I’m so glad that I get to see him a lot more. I cherish every time we spend together dad, I love you,” Brian said to his dad in the audience.
The ‘Flying Without Wings’ performance was one of the most poignant moments of a superb show by Boyzlife. The boyband duo took a lively trip down memory lane to relive the greatest hits of Boyzone and Westlife.
