Early morning start for Lough Swilly RNLI volunteer crew

The volunteer Lough Swilly RNLI crew were tasked this morning at 7.42am to come to the aid of a fishing vessel that had lost power just off Ballyhoorisky.

While en route to the stricken vessel, however, the all weather lifeboat was stood down as the crew onboard the fishing boat had re-established power.

The Lifeboat returned to Buncrana Pier to refuel and make ready for service.

Remember, if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
