Donegal’s Daniel O’Reilly made history today when he scored Ireland’s first ever Down Syndrome Futsal goal.
The 26-year-old sharp shooter got a massive sendoff from his native Letterkenny at the weekend before heading to Italy to represent Ireland in the SUDS European Championships.
And he didn’t disappoint. Daniel showed some neat footwork against the hosts earlier today to slot home Ireland’s first ever goal in the competition.
He is joined on the panel by fellow Donegal men, goalkeeper David Crawford and forward Hughie Sweeney.
Posting his Facebook page, Daniel said: “Big big news flash – I scored the first goal v Italy today – still blazing a trail folks.”
