A former teacher has been jailed for historical sexual abuse of three boys in Northern Ireland.
Patrick Sharkey, 80, originally from Donegal, with an address on Holmfield Road in Coventry, was handed a sentence of three years and four months for offences committed between September 1, 1988, and December 31, 1998.
BBC News NI reports that Sharkey, who taught at St Joseph’s College, Coleraine, was arrested in July 2022. He denied any wrongdoing during questioning until he was re-arraigned last March.
The three victims were aged between 12 and 16 years old at the time of their abuse.
Sharkey appeared at Antrim Crown Court last week via videolink from prison.
