The death has taken place of renowned Donegal broadcaster Seán Diver.
Seán, from Coshclady in Bunbeg, was a well-known voice on Raidio na Gaeltachta for more than 20 years.
But broadcasting was only one of Seán’s many talents and chapters of his life in West Donegal.
He was a driving force behind the Credit Union movement in Donegal and helped to set up branches in a number of towns including Gaoth Dobhair, the Rosses and Falcarragh.
He held a number of jobs down through the years including being a Customs Officer, a carpet salesman as well as a spell with the American telecommunications firm AT&T and IMED in Letterkenny.
It was difficult most of the time to see how Seán had much time for a personal life he was so busy with his many passions which included sport and ceili dancing.
But family life was the backbone of Seán’s life.
Sean was predeceased by his wife Sarah Diver (née Boyce) and by his parents; May & Eddie Diver.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter Deirdre, sons; Antoin, Declan, Adrian & Sean, daughters-in-law Kerry & Louise, grandchildren; Kieran, Grace, Hugh & Maitiu, brother Joe Diver, sisters; Maire Diver, Breege Williams, Ann Ferry, Kit Keating & Gráinne Diver and extended family & friends.
His remains will repose at his home from 11am today, Thursday and Friday until rosary time at 8pm nightly.
His funeral arrangements have yet to be officially published.
