It was another busy week for Letterkenny Athletic Club and the weekly notes are out now.
Bord na Mona Tullamore Half Marathon
Congratulations to Natasha Adams who won the Bord na Mona Tullamore Half Marathon and in so doing set a course record. An outstanding achievement by an outstanding athlete.
Donegal Half Marathon
The Donegal Half Marathon, sponsored by Kernan’s, took place over the weekend with many competitors from LAC performing very well.
The first LAC member to cross the line was Philip McHugh in third place in a superb time of 1:15:28.
Raymond Birch finished in 1:16:17, Kevin Ferry 1:25:59, Stephen Woods 1:29:40, Callum Keaveny 1:30:20, Barry Mackey 1:30:35, Adrian Callaghan 1:31:59, Mark McFadden 1:36:11, Gary Kearns 1:36:18, Sean McFadden 1:38:47, Eamon O’Boyle 1:41:21, Declan Callaghan 1:42:32, Mairead Cullen 1:47:39, Frank Pinder Snr. 1:49:30, Noel Lynch 1:49:56, Naoise Enright 1:50:55, John Anthony McMullen 1:52:00, Pat Brady 1:52:18, Trish Callaghan 1:57:01, Graeme Michie 1:58:14 and Diane Bustard in 2:17:08.
Antrim Coast Half Marathon
Nakita Burke and Noeleen Scanlon ran for Ulster in the Antrim Coast Half Marathon last weekend. Well done Nakita and Noeleen.
LAC meets Tuesday 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run.
All runs start at the Aura. All levels catered for and encouraged.
Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.
The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend. Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
