A missing cat has been reunited with her owner after making an incredible journey from Louth to Donegal.
Vitali, a ginger cat, showed up at a house in Newtowncunningham in mid-August.
With no information about its owner, the person who found her turned to Animals In Need Donegal to help get her home.
To everyone’s surprise, a woman in Louth recognised the cat as her own beloved pet, Vitali, who had been missing for five weeks.
The woman travelled all the way to Donegal to be reunited with her furry friend, who was checked over by a vet after his adventurous journey.
Vitali is now back home and settling in with his family and feeling very grounded. It turned out that a neighbour who was on holiday in Donegal had unwittingly brought Vitali along with them on their travels!
The heartwarming story showcases the power of social media in reuniting lost pets with their owners.
“The power of Facebook strikes again, keep sharing posts and other lost pets might get home,” said a spokesperson for Animals in Need Donegal.
