Job Vacancy: The Narrow Quarter, a popular bistro in Kerrykeel, is hiring a Senior Front of House team member for a full-time role.
About Us: The Narrow Quarter is a well-established restaurant known for its exceptional dining experience and commitment to quality service. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Front of House to lead our front-of-house team and ensure the continued success of our establishment.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and manage the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service. Motivate staff, set performance expectations, and provide guidance to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
Customer Service: Uphold our high standards of customer service. Ensure that guests receive a memorable dining experience by addressing their needs, resolving issues, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Communication: Foster clear and effective communication among staff members, as well as between front-of-house and kitchen teams. Communicate specials, promotions, and menu changes to the team and guests.
Cash Handling: Oversee cash handling procedures, including POS transactions, bill settlement, and reconciliation. Ensure accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
HR & Employment Legislation: Possess a basic understanding of HR practices and employment legislation. Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining a positive work environment in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Digital Marketing Knowledge: Have a basic knowledge of digital marketing strategies and assist in promoting the restaurant’s offerings through social media, online platforms, and email marketing.
Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team, owners, and other senior members of staff to ensure efficient flow of service. Communicate special dietary requirements and ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
Training and Development: Provide training to new staff members and ongoing professional development for existing team members. Ensure all staff are well-versed in the restaurant’s menu, service standards, and policies.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with team members to find solutions and prevent future challenges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years in a senior hospitality position is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures and accuracy in managing financial transactions.
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment legislation.
- Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and strategies.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain a positive attitude.
