London Rose Amy Gillen, native to Donegal, will take to the stage tonight for the 2023 International Rose of Tralee festival.
Born in Letterkenny to Billy and Aisling Gillen, Amy is a talented musician.
She furthered her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, earning a Master’s degree in Classical and Jazz Flute.
The 27 year old now resides in Central London and was selected as London’s Rose on 26th May at the Clayton Hotel Chiswick.
Dáithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas will host 18 Roses on RTÉ One at 8pm tonight and 14 more tomorrow, before the winner will be announced.
Amy will be the eighth Rose on stage this evening.
There will be no ‘Donegal Rose’ on stage this year as revamped competition rules now allow centres to only put forward a Rose every two years. Katie McAteer from Rathmullan proudly represented her county last year.
