In the Extreme North Quadrathon in Inishowen, day three saw the competitors tackling the gruelling Mamore Gap.
The Mamore Marathon was won by Aidan Hogan of Cork City AC in 3:22.10 followed by Rodney McPhee of Springwell AC in 3:26.57 while James Mooney of Foyle Valley AC was third in 3:39.20. Denise Barrett of Loughrea AC was first female in 3:59.37 and was fifth overall.
In the Mamore Half Marathon winner was Ciaran Hegarty of Run for Fun Letterkenny (pictured) in 1:43.48, with Paul McCullagh of City of Lisburn AC second in 1:44:06 while David McGaffin of Springwell was third in 1:55.51.
Bernie Boyce of Run for Fun Letterkenny was the first female over the line in 2:00.24, and was 9th overall today.
The fourth and final day of this year’s event sees the Muff Marathon and Muff Half Marathon.
The Muff Marathon begins in Buncrana at 9.00 am while the Half Marathon starts at 11.15 am in Muff Village. Both events finish in Moville.
