Met Éireann has brought forward its Status Yellow rain warning for Donegal from 5pm to 3pm.
It will remain in effect until 6am tomorrow and forecasts heavy rain with thundery downpours, with strong winds at times along coasts. Potential Impacts include spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions and wave overtopping on coasts.
Other affected counties include Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.
The UK Met Office has issued two warnings for wind and rain covering Northern Ireland.
A Status Yellow wind warning has also been issued for counties Antrim and Down from 6pm this evening until midday tomorrow. A Status Yellow rain warning comes into effect for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry at 9pm tonight and is in place until 6am.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann has also issued a Status Orange warning for rain and wind as Storm Betty is set to hit the south of Ireland this evening. Gusts of up to 130km/h will hit the south and southwest of the country, bringing the potential for structural damage, falling trees, travel disruption, power outages and localised flooding. The warning will be in effect from 9pm until 3am tomorrow morning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
