The Donegal U15s have reached the Galway Cup final, following a thrilling day of football that saw the team secure a top spot in their group.
In their morning match against Mervue, the team emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.
However, it was the outcome of the Dundalk versus Clare match that would ultimately determine Donegal’s fate.
With Dundalk leading 3-0 at halftime and securing a fourth goal early in the second half, Donegal’s chances of securing a top spot looked slim. Clare managed to pull one back, but it was the heroic efforts of their goalkeeper that prevented Dundalk from scoring their sixth goal deep into injury time.
Donegal will now face the Midlands League in the final, scheduled for 2.25pm today (Saturday).
