One of south west Donegal’s largest employers is seeking to expand its operations.
Errigal Bay Ltd has applied to Donegal County Council for permission for a massive new 2,682 Sq m (28,800 sq ft) extension to its factory in Meenaneary, Carrick.
The proposed single storey industrial building will be used for the production of plant based products.
The new expansion could mean new jobs for the area.
The company already employs over 200 people and products exported across the world.
Back in 2020, Errigal Bay signed a €4m deal with Lidl Ireland which sees the company’s products on Lidl shelves in seven European countries.
The company was originally started in 1962 through the vision of local pioneering priest, Fr James McDyer, as a food processing co-op.
