Man in court after attacking car while drunk

A Castlefin man has appeared in court charged with criminal damage after attacking a car while being drunk.

Gary McNulty appeared at Letterkenny District Court where his case was adjourned back to September 11th.

The 30-year old of Finn View, Castlefin is charged with causing damage to a blue Mazda CX-5 jeep at Emmet Park in Castlefin on July 29th last.

The court heard that McNulty damaged the wing mirrors and rear passenger window of the car which belonged to Andrew Laird.

The charge was Contrary to Section 2(1) Criminal Damage Act, 1991.

On the same date at Castlefin, McNulty was charged with being present in said public place while intoxicated to such an extent as would give rise to a reasonable apprehension that you might endanger yourself or any other person in your vicinity.

This charge was Contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994 as amended by Section 22 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 2008

Judge Deirdre Gearty adjourned the case until September 11th next.
