Kincasslagh parish priest Fr Pat Ward is going viral again for adding a special musical flair to the Our Father.
A video of the ukelele-playing priest is being shared far and wide on TikTok this week, with people all over the world being impressed by his talent.
Parishioners of Kincasslagh and Burtonport are well used to hearing Fr Ward play the ukelele, but his creativity in prayer is now reaching hundreds of thousands online.
The video was taken by TikTokker Olivia, who was visiting Donegal from the States.
Liv was visiting family in Burtonport and simply loved seeing Fr Pat singing, that she had to share it.
Now, almost half a million people have seen the performance in St. Columba’s Church, and 56,000 people have liked it!

“This is super pretty and I love it. Music is such a beautiful way to elevate some of these prayers! Random instrument choice but it sounds good,” said one commenter.
“I’ll be waiting for the full version on Spotify,” said another!
“Such a charismatic priest, guided us all through covid with prayer, music & good common sense,” said a parishioner.
In 2020, Fr Ward was named an ‘inspirational hero’ by Gala Retail and Virgin Media for his wonderful ways of engaging with his congregation during Covid. At a time when Masses moved online, Fr Ward started incorporating music and strummed his way through hymns and prayers.
It’s not the first time Fr Pat has become an unlikely internet sensation. In 2021, he chuckled his way through an ‘Alexa’ mishap when his trusty music player blared rap music into the chapel!
