A Media student who has already won 11 awards at Independent Film Festivals, is planning a career as a film director when he completes his course at North West Regional College (NWRC).
Ahead of the publication of exam results in August, filmmaker and student Ryan O’Connor is encouraging local students to consider applying to NWRC for post Leaving Cert study, saying his time there has been the “best education experience of his life.”
NWRC recently announced details of its Results Sessions. Prospective students wishing to find out more about the college or apply for a course can register to attend at www.nwrc.ac.uk/results
Media student Ryan O’Connor said he would recommend NWRC to other students.
He added: “The course is very interesting, my lecturers are fantastic, lovely to work with, and very inspiring. This course has given me the confidence to pursue a career in the film industry.
“I’d recommend NWRC for anyone who has a passion for a subject. Media is perfect for those who have an interest in Film, TV Shows, Gaming & Documentary as it will give them confidence and help with their passion.
“I would like to be a film writer and director, and have already won a best director and best short film award, so at this moment I’m still on course to achieve that future.”
With exam results arriving it’s a time for big decisions for students receiving GCSE, A Level, Leaving Cert and BTEC results.
Choices made in the next weeks can be among the most important you’ll ever make in your life – and staff at North West Regional College are here to help.
