Thanks to one skilful driver, and a bit of planning, this tricky bit of maneuvering of McClay’s Corner, Stranorlar, passed without incident at the weekend.
The cargo was a mid tower section of a giant wind turbine, on its way to the recently completed Lenalea project near Drumkeen.
It was “surveyed and planned to the millimetre” according to the specialist McFadyen’s Transport who were tasked with the job of getting the parts from Killybegs to the wind farm site.
The turbine components were manufactured by the international wind turbine supplier, Vestas, and were shipped to the south west Donegal port from various factories in Europe.
