The weekly notes for Dunkineely/Bruckless/Killaghtee community are now out.
Beach Clean
After a month off due to high tides, the next beach clean will be on Saturday 19th August at 1pm at St. John’s Point Beach (Trabane). This is a particularly important annual event, both in preparation for the Killaghtee Festival and to help ensure rubbish left behind by holiday makers is removed. Every piece of rubbish is a threat to both the local cattle and the wildlife on land and sea. Pickers, gloves and bags will be supplied. Just bring along a coat or suntan cream, dependent on the
weather!
Boat Trip
Big news. This year’s Killaghtee Festival will once again offer a boat trip for just €15. Taking place at 6pm on Sunday 27th August, leaving from Killybegs, the tour will once again head out to St. John’s Point for some fantastic views of Killaghtee and the surrounding area. There may even be some wildlife on view.
Due to tides, this year’s launch has been moved to Killybegs, and the bigger boat of Atlantic Coastal Cruises will be used. The trip will be 1-2 hours long, depending on interest. Tickets will go on sale from 4th August at www.killghtee.ie. If you require a lift from Dunkineely/Bruckless to Killybegs, e-mail dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com.
Bruckless Park
The team at Bruckless Park had outdoor gym equipment installed by OUTFIT. Nine pieces of equipment in total, three of which are wheelchair accessible. This area was funded by Sports Capital and Equipment grant 2020. Free for everyone to avail of, with instructions on each machine on how to use it.
Come down to the park on 26th August at 2pm for a Picnic in the Park. Part of the Killaghtee Festival. There will be tea, scones and entertainment for all. Bring your own sandwiches.
Car boot sale
The next car boot sale at Killaghtee Hall is on Monday, 7th August, 10am. You can enjoy tea and plenty of sweet treats in the hall.
