Lough Swilly RNLI volunteers believe an inflatable dinghy recovered by them yesterday off Dunree Head may have fallen off a passing boat.
The lifeboat crew was paged yesterday at 3.27pm by Malin Head Coast Guard to reports of an inflatable boat.
After a short search, the crew located the inflatable (main pic) and quickly established that no persons were onboard. They recovered the inflatable and the Inshore Lifeboat Crew returned to Ned’s Point, refuelled and made ready for service.
“We would like to thank the person that reported this and the owner of the boat can claim back their property by contacting the station,” an RNLI spokesperson said.
Remember, if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
