The funeral of renowned Donegal bagpiper Alec Browne takes place today on Arranmore island.
Hundreds are expected to bid a sad farewell to Mr Browne who passed away suddenly following a band contest last weekend in Newtownards.
Mr Browne was a renowned and accomplished musician who was known across Donegal and Ireland.
He was also a committee member of the National Executive of Pipe Bands.
He will be laid to rest following his funeral mass at St Crone’s Church on Arranmore Island at noon.
Tributes poured in all week following Mr Browne’s untimely passing.
Included among the many tributes for the leader of the Arranmore Pipe Band was messages of sympathy from the Raphoe Ulster Scots Band.
