Two landmark houses in the Twin Towns have gone ‘Sale Agreed’ this week.
‘Rosemount’ on Donegal Road Ballybofey had a price tag of €300,000 while €225,000 was sought for ‘Highfield House’ on Stranorlar’s Main Street when they went on the market last year.
The Ballybofey house (main pic) was the home of late doctor and businessman, Frank Mulrine.
Dr Mulrine, who passed away in October, 2020, was the former chairman of soft drinks manufacturer, P. Mulrine & Sons.
The six-bedroom 1920s-style dormer bungalow is located on a private plot which includes almost one acre of landscaped gardens.

Meanwhile, the historic Highfield House (above) in Stranorlar was originally built by a bank company around 100 years ago, probably as a manager’s residence.
It was the former home of the famous Chris MacDonagh, who founded the Donegal Historical Society in 1946. He passed away in 1960 and it was purchased by popular local school teachers, the late Joe and Mollie O’Hegarty, who lived there for the rest of their lives.
The stunning interior is testament to the dedicated couple who were much loved around the Twin Towns and further afield.
