A selection committee to choose the new Donegal GAA senior manager will be formed when the Donegal County Board meets tomorrow night.
It is understood a number of possible candidates have expressed an interested in taking over from Aidan O’Rourke as the new manager.
The deadline for those expressions of interest closed last Friday but a future manager could also be chosen from outside these candidates.
Former Derry star O’Rourke replaced Paddy Carr last season when he stepped down before the Championship after a number of players expressed their concerns over the team’s performances during the league.
The notification for a new manager from the Donegal GAA County Board was different this time as they looked for expressions of interest from suitable candidates.
In previous appointments, the board would have sought nominations for the post.
Two possible candidates who would appear to have already ruled themselves out of the running are former Senior Ladies manager Maxi Curran as well as St Eunan’s manager Rory Kavanagh who reportedly turned down the position before it was offered to Paddy Carr.
Naomh Conaill Senior manager Martin Regan’s name is again being linked to the position.
