A weather warning has been issued for Donegal overnight and tomorrow as the heavy rain continues.
Forecasters are warning of the risk of localised flooding.
The status yellow rain alert is in place from today (Saturday) until 11am Sunday.
Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, and Sligo are also included in the warning.
There is a good chance of the rain clearing on Sunday afternoon, however, as Met Eireann forecasts: “Cloudy tomorrow morning with showery outbreaks of rain. A clearance to sunny spells and isolated showers will develop in by afternoon. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees with mostly moderate northerly winds developing, fresher near coasts.”
