Lace up your hiking boots and set off on the Sliabh Liag hike on 5th August for Focus Ireland’s new ‘On the Move’ initiative.
This a new series of fitness and adventure events, supported by Horizon Therapeutics, to raise vital funds for homeless services.
Join Focus Ireland for a spectacular full moon loop hike on Sliabh Liag (or Slieve League), otherwise known as the ‘Grey Mountain’ which dominates the corner skyline of Donegal Bay. Once participants reach the summit, they can expect to enjoy views that stretch all the way to Sligo and Mayo as the sun rises.
A record 12,259 people are currently experiencing homelessness in Ireland, including 3,594 children. In comparison to 9,825 people at the same time last year, homelessness is rapidly increasing, making this year’s efforts more important than ever.
Ali Shaw, member of the CSR committee at Horizon said: “We have been firm supporters of Focus Ireland for a number of years and are delighted to support the ‘On the Move’ campaign to help raise much needed funds and awareness for homelessness in Ireland.
“At Horizon, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate, and we know that Focus Ireland do incredible work to support families and children on their journey to a home of their own.
“As a team we are really looking forward to getting out and exploring our beautiful country during the summer and we hope that many more will join us on these adventures.”
