Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon has been making waves in Donegal – literally!
The comedian and actor was at the helm of the Arranmore Ferry on Sunday, taking a trip out west to visit Arranmore Island.
Ardal was promoted to skipper for the day by the delighted Arranmore Red Ferry crew who welcomed him aboard.
After all, he would have been well used to sailing out to ‘Craggy Island’ as Father Dougal McGuire!
“The trip was so fast from Arranmore that we never got the chance to pour the tea, poor Fr Dougal that wouldn’t happen if Mrs. Doyle was with him,” joked the team of the Arranmore Red Ferry.
Ardal also called into Harbour Front Café in Burtonport, much to the delight of staff members Dympna and Jason! There has been plenty of celeb spotting at the cafe this month, as they’ve also recently welcomed Still Game star Sanjeev Kohli.
It’s believed that Ardal O’Hanlon is touring the coast as part of a new wildlife and travel show. His recent stops this week also included Baltimore in Cork and Valentia Island.
The actor has written and presented several documentaries, including Ireland with Ardal O’Hanlon which aired on More 4 in 2016.
