Tributes have been paid to Fr Carlo Centra of Fahan, who passed away peacefully on Saturday.
Fr. Centra, aged 97, was a faithful servant of God and a regular mass celebrant in the Nazareth House community. He also served as the former parish priest of St Gregory Barbarigo, Wyndford, Archdiocese of Glasgow.
Condolences have been expressed to the Centra family from across the local community.
Fr Centra is the much-loved son of the late Antonio and Leonilde Centra of Main Street, Buncrana and dear brother of the late Lena (McConnell), Rosina (Farren), Giacoma, Alfonso, Patricia (Kelly) and Angelo. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, extended family members and many friends.
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday 7th July at St Mary’s Church, Cockhill.
His remains will be reposing at his late residence at The Shieling, Church Brae, Fahan from 3.00pm on Tuesday, 4th July. Removal from there on Thursday, 6th July, at 2.00pm going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill (Eircode F93 F9VE) arriving at 3.00pm for Prayers of Reception. Requiem mass Friday morning, 7th July, at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
