32 brave golfers from Dunfanaghy Golf Club took to the course to attempt their very own 24 for 24 challenge on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June.
Through the day and into the night they all played and by 10am on Saturday morning 31 of them successfully completed five 18-hole rounds of golf with a short break between each round.
Those who participated in the challenge were; June T Nelson, Gillian Robinson, Deborah Moore, Theresa Farrell, Heather Mairs, Andrew Kelly, Carlos O’Reilly, Finn Dalton, Malcolm Allan, Tommy Reidy, John McGarvey, Jim McLaughlin, Rory McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, John Ryan, Conan Brennan, Eoghan Kelly, Oisin Langan, Brendan McGrath, Chris Monroe, Jamie Gillespie, Christy Galligan, Fergal Callan, Brendan Kelly, Michael Kelly, Gerald Dalton, Tony McGilloway, Michael McColgan, Daniel McColgan, Noel McGinley, Sam Sterritt and Karl Kelly.
The aim of the event was to raise money for the Creeslough Disaster Fund, the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland and the Irish Society for Autism.
So far the club has raised raised almost €21,000 on their GoFundMe page and over €9,000 from other sponsorship, raffles & the Classic on 24th June.
