Killaghtee Festival
With only two months to go, the next Killaghtee Festival planning meeting will be held on 5th July at7:30pm in MacLaughlin’s Lounge. Are you passionate about Dunkineely, Killaghtee, Bruckless and St. John’s Point? Do you want to gain skills, while doing something fun and exciting? Do you think you can help? Dunkineely National School
The school had some great fun last week at their sports day. All the old favourites were there; three legged racing, spoon races, sack racing and more. Pictures can be seen on the Dunkineely NS Facebook page.
The community hopes to revive the very popular sports day at the Killaghtee Festival this year, so watch out for details.
Church Services
- Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in
Ardara. - Catholic Church: Mass will be held at the normal times. Mass can also be viewed on the ‘Bruckless
Church – St Joseph and St Conal’ Facebook page. Eucharistic Adoration is on Friday from 11am to 3pm, and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm. Confession can be heard before weekend Masses or arrange a time by contacting Fr Brady at the Parochial House (074 973 7015). - Church of Ireland: Sunday service at normal times. Please contact church for timetable. Save the date in the diary for the next car boot which will be Monday 7th August. The Church would like to thank anyone who, in any way, made last week’s Annual Walk/Run a success. They had all ages take part and a few four legged friends also joined in.
Dunkineely Celtic FC
The pitch is currently closed until 2nd July.
- U12s: The U12s played their 3rd game at home against Eany Celtic on Sunday and won 3 – 1. These boys and girls are playing great football this season and the club is so proud of them. Well done to their manager Shane who is putting in great time with them. Keep it up.
Naomh Ultan

- All Ireland: The Bord Na nÓg had a trip to go watch Donegal vs Tyrone in the All Ireland Preliminary Quarter Final on 24th June, in Páirc Sheáin Mhic Cumhaill, Ballybofey. Over 50 of the underage players were on the trip and they all had a very enjoyable experience at the game, despite the disappointing result. Huge thank you to all the coaches, mentors and parents who made this trip possible for all the children. CLG Naomh Ultan was very well represented in MacCumhaill park!
- Senior Team: The senior team lost their penultimate game 0-11 to 2-9, versus Bun Na Phobai, at home. The reserve team lost to Gleann Fhinne, 4-3 to 6-9. - U16 LGFA: The next match will be the All County League – Division 5 Semi Final. It takes place on 27th June at 7pm versus Naomh Mhuire, Conmhaigh, at home.
- U13: Down in the Banks vs. Naomh Muire, Íochtar Na Rosann our U13s picked up a great win to make it two from two in their SRB – Division 2 league. Big well done to the boys and their management. They are scheduled to play again next Wednesday, 28 th June at 6pm, versus Naomh Bríd in Páirc Naomh Ultan.
- U14 LGFA: The U14 LGFA also won in their Credit Unions of Donegal Division 4 Group B match. Away to Chill Chartha.
- U12 LGFA: The U12 LGFA team took part in a blitz competition at MacCumhaill park, Ballybofey, hosted by CLG Seán Mac Cumhaills. Great fun! Thanks to all involved.
- U9: The U9 side had a brilliant run out away to Chill Chartha in the sunshine, some great football played by both teams. Well done everyone!
- Cúl Camp: The club’s 2023 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp will run from Monday 10th July to Friday 14th July. The registration for this camp will go live on https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/ from Tuesday 2nd May at 7pm.
