Irish Wheelchair Association is urging people with disabilities to think ahead about their housing needs and join them for their housing roadshow.
The event will take place tomorrow (Friday) from 12pm at the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny and aims to inform disabled people about housing adaptation grants and of their rights to apply for social housing.
In addition, this event will also highlight the barriers in the current housing regulations that are negatively impacting on local authorities’ and Governments ability to build more wheelchair liveable housing.
Rosaleen Lally, National Access Manager, Irish Wheelchair Association: “This event is open to anyone with an interest in housing.
“We want to empower people to speak up about their housing needs and set them on a pathway towards achieving their goals.
“On the day you can expect stories from others who will speak about their own personal experience around access to housing and the impact it is having on their lives.”
This event is free and open to the public, no booking is required.
