The winning Co Donegal lotto ticket worth more than €6 Million was bought in a shop in Inishowen.
Donegal Daily yesterday exclusively revealed that one of the two tickets which shared Saturday night’s whopping €12,747,755 jackpot was sold in the county.
The ticket, which remains unclaimed, is worth exactly €6,373,878 to its lucky owner.
Lotto chiefs are remaining tight-lipped about the exact location of the winning shop but Donegal Daily will have further details on the location tomorrow.
The winning lotto agent receives €15,000 for selling a winning jackpot but this prize will be shared with the seller of the other winning ticket in Westmeath.
Saturday night’s lotto jackpot was the biggest of the year so far.
Since the Lotto game launched in 1988, only 28 jackpots in excess of €10million have been won.
It’s the third lotto win in less than a month in Donegal but by far the biggest.
In May, Kelly’s Centra in Mountain Top in Letterkenny sold a cool €1M winner.
And less than two weeks later Lady Luck shone down on Donegal again.
This time it was the turn of Doherty’s Centra in Moville to sell a ticket for a €250,000 jackpot.
And now lotto fever has struck for a THIRD time.
