As the good weather continues, Ireland’s coasts are a hive of activity.
But whether you’re steering a boat, a kayak or even a paddleboard, there is a Code of Practice to follow.
The Code of Practice is an important source of legislative information, safety advice and best practice operational guidance for owners, operators and users of a range of recreational craft operating in Irish coastal and inland waters.
The Irish Coast Guard is reminding all craft users to be careful on the water this summer.
“Make sure that you have the proper equipment and know how to use it safely,” the notice said.
“From sailboats to kayaks, you need to have the proper safety equipment and know how to use it,” said the Lough Swilly RNLI.
