The first sod on the construction of the Lifford to Castlefinn Greenway has been officially turned.
Councillors Patrick McGowan, Gary Doherty, Martin Harley and Gerry Crawford did the honours after welcoming the appointment of ACS Civils Ltd as contractors to the project.
Work is due to commence on site this month.
The 7.5km long greenway is funded through the Interreg VA Programme, administered by the Special EU Programmes Body, and the Department of Transport.
