Fans of Harry Styles made the journey from Donegal to Slane Castle on Saturday 10th June to see the singer perform for over 80,000 fans.
The global sensation wowed the crowd as part of the European leg of ‘Love on Tour’, wearing a sequinned green and silver bomber jacket and white flared trousers.
He is the first person to perform at Slane since Metallica in 2019.
Harry was also keen to show off his ‘cúpla focail’, saying phrases such as “Céad míle fáilte” (“Welcome”), “Conas atá tú?” (“How are you?”) and “Go n-éirí an bóthar leat” (“May the road rise to meet you”) throughout the show.
The singer proved himself as a true showman as he performed 21 songs, including hits Watermelon Sugar, Adore You, Sign Of The Times and As It Was, as well as surprising fans with his unreleased track Medicine, a song that he only performs at some shows.
Fans were buzzing despite the bad weather and were treated to supports acts Mitch Rowland, Annie Mac, Wet Leg and Dublin-based group Inhaler, before Harry took to the stage at 8.30pm.
The show lasted two hours as fans danced, screamed and sang along to all their favourite songs, with fireworks going off during Sign Of The Times and the closing song Kiwi.
It was a very long day fans, even longer for some who had been camping out since 5am to get the best view.
The concert-goers later complained about the chaos of trying to leave Slane, with some saying it took them 2 hours to leave the venue and 90 minutes to get out of the car park and on the road.
One fan Tweeted: “No movement, no stewards, pure chaos — cars are all bottlenecked”, while another said: “It was mayhem! I live 30 minutes from Slane, it took me three hours, ten minutes to get home.”
Buses from Donegal had left from as early as 9am on Saturday morning and did not return home until the early hours of Sunday morning.
