The owners of a popular Letterkenny bar and restaurant say they are being forced to ‘temporarily close’ due to insurance and licencing reasons.
Donaghy’s at the Cill An Óir Complex, Killylastin, made the announcement last night on their Facebook page.
They also said they have been working for a considerable time with the owner of the building in order to secure a fire certificate.
“However, we have reached a bottleneck in the process, without this (cert) we haven’t been able to secure insurance or our licence,” the statement read.
“The building is presently not compliant with fire regulations. And, following an inspection by the architects, it seems there is a lot of work to do. With an eye on the safety of our staff and patrons, we have decided to close temporarily.”
They concluded that they will work with everyone to reopen the premises as soon as possible.
