The HSE has said it is liaising with local GPs, pharmacies and NoWDOC in relation to the temporary lack of a nurse on Tory.
Concern has been raised after it was confirmed there will be no nurse to cover the island for the next two weeks.
“As a result of unplanned leave, the HSE nurse on Tory Island is currently unavailable,” a HSE spokesperson said.
“As an additional control, local GPs, Pharmacies and NoWDOC have been advised. In addition, the Coast Guard has been informed in the event of an emergency.”
Meanwhile, it has also transpired that there is no doctor on the island today due to a transport mix-up.
It is believed the local GP could not travel to the island as the helicopter they had been waiting for was cancelled.
