Massive crowds gathered at An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny as Donegal County Council and Donegal Intercultural Platform celebrated Africa Day 2023 on Saturday 27th May.
The celebration opened at 12 noon with a series of exhibitions and workshops taking place at the An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny.
The afternoon saw a colourful Family Fun Day taking over the An Grianán Theatre Plaza from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, with free African food tasting (Burrito Loco Restaurant), children’s games, arts and crafts, face painting (Letterkenny CDP),
traditional and contemporary dance displays, hair braiding and Henna tattoos, as well as Music from all corners of Africa with DJ Taka Tha and Nyaka Chana and her Band.
The Donegal Africa Day celebrations was funded by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with African embassies in Ireland and Donegal County Council.
